Today's dynamic and globally competitive environment creates continuous shifts in business strategy. The essential difference between winners and losers in business will be their ability to respond to these shifts effectively. This responsiveness includes the capacity for organisational learning and the agility of the organisation to refine and restructure itself to support those evolving business strategies.
Cunneen uses real-world examples from such industry leaders as Proctor & Gamble, Cisco and Hewlett Packard to illustrate and support his points. Drawing on over three decades of experience across three continents, he has developed case studies of authentic situations for critical analysis and class debate.
While the audience for the book is primarily MBA students, it is written in such a way as to be also useful to business leaders, senior organisational/HR practitioners, and organisational change consultants.
'This book - combining the best of current theory on organisation design with real-world examples of applications - will be a valuable resource for both those in academic studies as well as those of us in active pursuit of ever increasing organisation effectiveness.'
Randall Hubin, VP Human Resources, Medtronic, Inc.
'I expect this book to appeal to both the MBA, executive education and manager market, and it addresses an area which is absolutely core to organisations wrestling with market-led change.'
Patrick Flood, Professor of Organisational Behaviour, DCU
